Change the timeout interval between Dameware Remote Support, Mini Remote Control, and the Dameware Central Server

Overview

This article provides steps on how to change the timeout interval between DRS, MRC and the Central Server. The default communication timeout interval is 1 minute.

Environment

  • DameWare Remote Support version 11.0 and later
  • DameWare Mini Remote Control version 11.0 and later

Steps

To change this interval, you must make changes to the registry on the Central Server.

  1. Back up your registry.
  2. Press the Windows key + R and enter regedit.
  3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dameware Development\.
  4. Create a new folder, and name it Shared.
  5. Inside the Shared folder, create a new DWORD key, and name it CentralServerTimeoutSecs.
  6. Enter the new timeout value in seconds.

The final registry path should look like the following:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dameware Development\Shared\CentralServerTimeoutSecs
