Overview

This article describes how to resolve the following error:

Error 87: The parameter is incorrect

Environment

All DameWare Mini Remote Control versions

Cause 

The error is caused by any of the following:

  • The user profile is corrupted.
  • The information provided, such as the domain, in the authentication field is incorrect.

Resolution

  1. Go to Mini Remote > Remote Connect.
  2. Select the host machine or machine.
  3. Click Default, and then click Yes to reset the user profile.
  4. Click Connect to reconnect to the remote machine.

If the steps do not work on the same domain, use the Windows NT Challenge Response, and then select the User Current Login Credentials box.
