An Internet Session allows technicians working from within your organization's network to help those outside your internal network.

Internet Sessions must be initiated by the technician within your network. The technician sends an Internet Session Link to the person outside the network. When the person joins the Internet Session, the technician can access the computer and provide help.

If your computer has a Mini Remote Control agent installed on it, certain settings may hinder your ability to join an Internet Session. To check your settings, right-click the agent icon in your notification area and select Settings.

The following settings can negatively affect the Internet Session:

  • Absolute Timeout (General Tab) - This controls how long the Mini Remote Control agent allows connections.

  • Shared Secret (Click Session in the General Tab) - If enabled, you will not be able to join Internet Sessions.

  • Show Tray Icon (Additional Settings) - If disabled, you cannot join Internet Sessions manually.

  • Only allow connection when at Logon Desktop (Additional Settings) - If enabled, you cannot join Internet Sessions.
