Overview

When attempting to carry out certain functions with Dameware Remote Support, you receive the following error:

Dameware Remote Support Service Not Installed

 

 

Environment

All Dameware DRS versions

Cause 

The DameWare NT Utilities (DNTU) Client Agent Service (DNTUS26.EXE) is not installed.

Resolution

The DameWare NT Utilities (DNTU) Client Agent Service (DNTUS26.EXE) and the DameWare Mini Remote Control (DMRC) Client Agent Service (DWRCS.EXE) can be manually installed on any machine by simply copying the required files to the appropriate directory on the remote machine.

 

  1. Log onto the Remote Machine Using DRS, Go to Services.|
  2. Right Click on right  Window pane and from the menu ,select install DRS Service.
  3. You should now be able to access features like the shutdown command.
