Transfer licenses from SWID to SWID in the same company

Overview

This article describe how to transfer one or more licenses (but not all) from one SolarWinds Customer ID (SWID) to another SolarWinds Customer ID.  The company names on each SWID are the same.
 

If you wish to transfer from one SWID to a new account created by SolarWinds, please refer to Transfer licenses from an existing account to a new account for the same company

If company names are different, please refer to Transfer licenses from one company to a different company name

If you wish to move all licenses, you need to have your accounts merged, please refer to Merge two or more accounts into one SolarWinds account

Pre-requisites

  • Any transfer of licenses must be approved by the Account Admins on each account.  If you are unsure who your Account Admin is, please contact Customer Service
  • A completed Asset Transfer form, signed by the Account Admins.
  • Please provide as much detail regarding the license(s) you wish to have transferred on the Asset Transfer form, such as Computer / Server Name the license is registered to, the Activation Key,  Purchase Order, Invoice or Sales Order number the license was purchased under, Maintenance end date.  This will assist SolarWinds in transferring the correct license, especially if there is multiple licenses of the same product.

  1. Complete all sections of the Asset Transfer form.  The form must be signed by the Account Admins.
  2. Return the completed form to customerservice@solarwinds.com or via webcase.
  3. Pending there are no issues, the license(s) will be transferred by Customer Service and confirmation will be sent to the customer.
