Transfer licenses from an existing account to a new account for the same company

Overview

This article describes how to transfer one or more licenses from one SolarWinds Customer ID (SWID) to a new account that SolarWinds will create where both accounts have the same company name.

Notes:

Pre-requisitesEdit section

  • Any transfer of licenses must be approved by the Account Admin(s) on the account the license is currently under.  If you are unsure who your Account Admin is, contact SolarWinds Customer Service.
  • A completed Asset Transfer to New Account form, signed by the Account Admin(s).
  • Provide as much detail regarding the license(s) you wish to transfer on the Asset Transfer form, such as Computer / Server Name the license is registered to, the Activation Key,  Purchase Order, Invoice or Sales Order number the license was purchased under, Maintenance end date. This will assist SolarWinds in transferring the correct license, especially if there are multiple licenses of the same product.

Steps  

  1. Complete all sections of the Asset Transfer form.  The form must be signed by the Account Admin.
  2. Return the completed form to customerservice@solarwinds.com or through webcase.

If there are no issues, the license(s) will be transferred by Customer Service and a confirmation letter will be sent.
