Individual User Profile for Customer Portal - Activation Email

We have improved how customer's access their Customer Portal.  Please refer to's for more information.


When you are added as a contact, you will receive an email to activate your Individual User Profile. 

Example of Activation Email


A new user profile associated with SolarWinds Customer ID (SWID) - SW**** has been created for you on the SolarWinds Customer Portal.

(This link is valid for 7 days from the receipt of this email)

Once you have completed your profile and password selection, if necessary, you will be able to login to the SolarWinds Customer Portal. 



**If you purchased a Serv-U FTP, MFT or Gateway license, you will receive a separate email with your Serv-U Registration ID (allow up to one business day for delivery of this email).**
**You can download your Serv-U product(s) and access support, as well as view your renewal information via the SolarWinds Customer Portal.** 


Use these 3 Steps to Successfully Implement your SolarWinds Software

Step 1: Visit the SolarWinds Success Center, select the product you purchased and find:

  • Getting Started Guides and/or product documentation: Click on the Getting Started Guides to get step-by-step instructions with best practices for installing, configuring, and using important product features.
  • Training: Click Training to watch short videos that will walk you through how to implement and use key features. In addition, you can sign up for free instructor-led product training for select products.
  • Release notes: Before upgrading, check out the release notes to understand new features available, product fixes and known issues that you should be aware of before upgrading.

  • Start or contribute to a discussion: Want advice on how to create a specific report or create a unique view? Submit your question and get responses from the SolarWinds IT pro community.
  • Browse the content exchange: Looking for a specific application template, configuration management script, etc.? Save time and see what others’ have contributed before you create your own.
  • Submit and vote on feature requests: Is there a feature you would love to see? Submit a feature request or vote on other feature requests to make your voice heard.


Step 3: Get Help

  • Search the Success Center: If you have licensing or technical product questions, search the thousands of articles in the Success Center to get an instant answer.
  • Contact Support: If you are unable to locate the answer in the Success Center or if you have a product issue, please contact our 24/7 Customer Service and Technical Support Teams.


License Activation Information

The activation key for your license is located on the License Management page in the SolarWinds Customer Portal, or you may have received an email with the activation key information (

*For Database Performance Analyzer, Web Help Desk, Storage Manager, Virtualization Manager, and Log & Event Manager, copy the activation key from the Customer Portal and apply it to the internal licensor of the product being updated.
**For all other products, please follow the steps under SolarWinds License Manager (see below) to update your new maintenance date from within your license.

SolarWinds License Manager

  • Ensure the latest version of license Manager is installed by downloading the following link and running the license manager installer.
  • Check the box on the left of the license that needs updating.
  • Select the Synchronize button located to the right of the license.
  • You should receive a message stating “Your Synchronizing is complete”.
  • If any license does not Sync, you will be guided through the steps for inputting the activation license from your Customer Portal after clicking on "Activate" button on License Manager.
  • Restart the installation, and it will go through, this might take a few minutes for the system to update.

  1. Within the email you received, click on the "Active New Profile" link.  This will open a new screen in which you need to enter your personal information and set your password


2. Click on Create Individual Profile.  You will receive below confirmation.  

3. Click on Log in to Customer Portal and it will bring you to the login page of the portal.  Enter your email address and the password you created and click Log In.
