This article provides steps to increase the Java heap size for FSM server components.

All FSM versions

Note: Before making changes to the heap file, consider the FSM FAQ.

  1. Go to C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\SolarWinds FSMServer.
  2. Locate the SolarWindsFSM.ini file and create a back up in a separate directory.
  3. Increase Xmx and Xms values. The flag Xmx specifies the maximum memory allocation pool for a Java Virtual Machine (JVM), while Xms specifies the initial memory allocation pool.
-Xmx4G will set it to 4G of max memory.
-Xmx4096M will also set it to 4G.
