Reports that use LIKE with an asterisk return no results

Overview

When you use LIKE with an asterisk together in a custom SQL or SWQL filter in Orion Report Writer reports, the report displays no results. Some versions of the product may display an SQL error.

For example, a filter like the following causes the report to return no results.

 Caption Like 'AX3-*'

Environment

• Orion Platform 2015.1.2 and later
• NPM 11.5.2 and later
• SAM 6.2 and later

Cause 

When the filter is saved, some of the characters are stripped.
