Network Atlas crashes when opening Map files

Overview

This article provides the steps to resolve the following error:

 

ERROR MapEngine - Cannot read file C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\SolarWinds\NetworkAtlas\Maps\Orion\localhost\New map.jpg
System.OutOfMemoryException: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

Environment

NPM version 12

Cause 

Issue is caused by file/folder permission on C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\SolarWinds\NetworkAtlas\Maps\Orion\localhost\.

Resolution

  1. Verify folder permission on: 
    C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\SolarWinds\NetworkAtlas\Maps\Orion\localhost\
  2. Move the files located at:
    C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\SolarWinds\NetworkAtlas\Maps\Orion\localhost\ to a backup folder and run Network Atlas using admin account.
