Microsoft SQL DB data drive is showing wrong raid drive space utilization

Overview

This article discusses the issue with SolarWinds DB server data file drive showing wrong utilization. The drive has 80 GB of space and it shows that it is full, but the database has only utilized 38 GB.

Environment

NPM version 11.x

 

Cause 

This issue occurs due to disk drive configuration.

Resolution

The reported issue shows your SQL disk drive is showing 0 space and the way to resolve this is to  expand the drive and/or show the correct information for your raid configuration.

You need to work with your Windows Team or Microsoft support to resolved the raid hardware/software problems you are experiencing on your SQL server as the reported problem is out of our products support.
