Overview

This article discusses why it is recommended not to delete SolarWinds files from the \Program Files (x86)\Solarwinds or \ProgramData\Solarwinds\ folders in the event of a disk nearing capacity.

Environment

All Orion Core environments

Detail

We do not recommend deleting any SolarWinds related files on the application server.  In the event of a full disk, we recommend either adding disk space or removing non-essential, non-Solarwinds applications or temp files.  All files on the application server related to Solarwinds are considered essential files.

You can, however, change the ProgramData folder to a different disk using enviornmental variables as seen in the Microsoft Technet article Recognized Environment Variables.
