Restore lost or deleted RabbitMQ queues

Updated 10/10/2017

Network Performance Monitor 12.0.1 and later use RabbitMQ to pass messages between modules, and Orion uses RabbitMQ to pass messages between the primary engine and additional polling engines or web servers. If the queues used by RabbitMQ are deleted or otherwise lost a variety of issues can arise. Error messages related to RabbitMQ will appear in the Information Service log files.****Wrong

  • NPM 12.0.1 and newer.
  • SolarWinds products using Orion 2016.2 and later.

The queues can be accidentally deleted or lost for unknown reasons.

  1. Uninstall RabbitMQ.
  2. Reinstall RabbitMQ from c:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Installers.
  3. Run the Configuration Wizard.
  4. Run c:\Program Files (x86)\Solarwinds\Orion\OpenRabbitMQConsole.exe If you get an error, run as administrator.
  5. Log in to the RabbitMQ web console with the username Orion and a password in the clipboard.
  6. Verify that queues exist and messages are being passed.
