Overview

Orion Failover Engine (FoE) installation fails with a blue screen error:

STOP: 0x0000006B (Parameter1, Parameter2, Parameter3, Parameter4)
PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED

Environment

All FoE versions

Cause

The %SystemRoot%\system32\codeintegrity\Bootcat.cache file is corrupted. 

Resolution

Follow these steps if you encounter a blue screen (with the above error) after installing FoE:

  1. Reboot the server and enter the Windows recovery console.
  2. Click Start > Run and type cmd to launch the command prompt from the recovery console.

  3. Delete the corrupted file. 

    %SystemRoot%\system32\codeintegrity\Bootcat.cache
  4. If the above file does not exist, run SFC /scannow to rebuild it.
  5. If step 4 does not work, then run chkdsk.
  6. Reboot the server.
  7. Proceed with the FoE installation steps.
