How to Configure Email for Notification of Tasks

Overview

Patch Manager features an email option for notification of task completion and results. Please see the below "Steps" for configuring email notification in Patch Manager.

Environment

  • PM 1.85 +

Steps

  • In the Navigation Pane Expand "Patch Manager System Configuration"
  • Click on application servers and select the appropriate server to send the email
  • Select "Application Server Settings"
  • Fill out the following:
    • Email Configuration: Sender e-mail address  -  This is the email address they wish to send with.
    • Email Configuration: Sender e-mail Name - This is the display name of the email account. This can be any value
    • Email Configuration: Sender Server Name - This is the sending server hostname or ip. *the selected application server must have network communication to this sever
    • Email Configuration Server Port Number:  - Specify the Port number of the email server
    • Email Configuration: SMTP Server Requires Authentication -  Select Enabled you must specify a user name and password to send email through the smtp server.
    • Email Configuration: SMTP Server logon username - Specify username if server requires authentication
    • Email Configuration: SMTP Server logon domain - Specify domain if you server requires it for authentication
    • Email Configuration: Server uses Encrypted TLS connection - Enable if your server requires TLS authentication
    • Email Configuration: Server uses Encrypted SSL connection - Enable if your server requires SSL authentication
    • Enable Patch Manager Update Notification Emails - Enable if you wish to receive an email when Patch Manger updates
