The following procedure creates a custom group of monitored objects in a defined geographic location.

To create a custom group:

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > IPAM Web Console.
  2. Log in to the web console as an administrator.
  3. Click Settings in the top right corner of the web console.
  4. Click Manage Groups in the Node & Group Management grouping of the Orion Website Administration page.
  5. Click Add New Group.
  6. Provide an appropriate Name and Description for the custom group. For example, a group named Austin could be described as, All monitored network objects in the Austin office.
  7. Click Next.
  8. In the Available Objects pane, check all monitored objects fitting the group definition. For example, using the example above, select all objects located in the Austin office.
  9. Click Add to Group.
  10. Select all monitored objects in the new group pane on the right, and click Create Group.

The new group of monitored objects located in the same geographic location is now listed on the Manage Groups view.
