Overview

This article addresses the issue where an Unexpected Error occurs while editing a Windows server on Orion when deploying an agent to the server. The error indicates that the device already has an agent.

Environment

NPM 12 RC1

Resolution

  1. Log in to the SolarWinds Customer Portal and upgrade to NPM 12.0 RC3, which contains the fix.
  2. Start DPA server if it is not already running.
  3. Verify if changing the polling method to the agent works as expected.
