This article addresses an issue that can occur if a trial version of NTA is placed on a server then removed. Afterwards, the interfaces in NPM cannot be removed.

NPM 11+

The issue is caused by a trigger that was placed by the NTA install into the Interfaces table that is not removed when NTA is removed. The trigger requires that any deleted interface first be removed from the NetFlowSources table before removing from the Interfaces table.

  1. Open the database through SQL Server Management Studio.
  2. Expand the NPM database.
  3. Expand the Interfaces table.
  4. Expand the Triggers directory.
  5. Delete the trigger named NetFlowTriggerAfterDeleteInterface.
  6. Delete the interfaces after that.
