This article describes how to troubleshoot ADO monitors.

All IPMonitor versions

  1. To test connectivity and authentication to an SQL server (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc), create a UDL file on the ipMonitor host.
Note: If a 64-bit OS, UDL file must be started using 32-bit ODBC. To do this, use following command: C:\Windows\syswow64\rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\System\Ole DB\oledb32.dll",OpenDSLFile C:\test.udl
  2. Select Provider, provide Connection information and click test option.
  3. If test is successful, close Data Link Properties and open UDL file in notepad. Use connection string to populate ADO Monitor.
  4. If test fails, it is recommended to seek assistance from your DBA or technical support for further investigation.
