Use a regular express that is looking for a string numbers that fall within the desired range. For example, if you wanted to monitor the temperature on a device in order to make sure it is between 65 and 75 degrees Farenheight and the value was coming in as a string, you would use the following regular express pattern: ([6][5,6,7,8,9]|[7][0,1,2,3,4,5])
