It is possible for customers get attempted hacks using the username root as login. Aside from the anti-hammer rule, there is no other way to block IP addresses as per the username.

This article provides information on how to deny any IP addresses using root as login.

  1. Create a new user in the domain.
  2. Use root as login name .
  3. Desselect Enable Account.
