Asset Inventory displays inaccurate number of file systems monitoring with SNMP

Updated 8-16-2016

Overview

The Asset Inventory may report fewer file systems when monitoring with SNMP. SNMP may filter out devtmpfs types. Monitoring with the Orion agent for Linux correctly reports all file systems to the Asset Inventory, including devtmpfs types.

Environment

  • Orion agent for Linux
  • Orion Platform 2016.2
  • SAM 6.3

Cause

SNMP may filter out devtmpfs types.

Resolution

Monitoring with the Orion agent for Linux correctly displays the number of file systems. You can verify with an SNMP walk.
