Clients cannot access Web Help Desk after a power outage

Issue

After a power outage, clients cannot access Web Help Desk from their workstations. However, you can access the Web Help Desk site from the Web Help Desk server. However, WHD site could be accessed from the WHD Server.  

Environment

  • All Web Help Desk versions
  • Web Help Desk server running the McAfee Framework service

Cause

The McAfee Framework service attached itself to Web Help Desk server ports, preventing clients from accessing Web Help Desk. 

Resolution

Uninstall McAffee from the Web Help Desk server.

  1. Stop Web Help Desk.
  2. Uninstall McAfee from the Web Help Desk server.
  3. Start Web Help Desk.

Clients can now access Web Help Desk from their workstations.
