RPC server unavailable in AD Logga

Overview

This article details an issue in which the AD Logga is not logging events properly. This can occur when you either check the ARM logbook or when analyzing the pnServer.log file.

Environment

  • Access Rights Manager

Resolution

  1. Turn off the firewall on the domain controller. 
    • If your internal policies do not allow you to switch off the firewall, you must activate the "Inbound rule" for the Remote Event Log Management (RPC) entry in the firewall.
      1. Open Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
      2. In the left panel, select Inbound Rules.
      3. Locate and select Remote Event Log Management (RPC).
      4. In the right panel, click Enable Rule.
  2. Restart the ARM service on the ARM server. If the AD Logga still does not record any events, restart the domain controller as well.
