HTTP Error 500.21 in ARM WebAPI

This article details a resolution to an issue in which users receive the following browser error in the ARM WebAPI:

HTTP Error 500.21 - Internal Server Error
Handler "ExtensionlessUrlHandler-Integrated-4.0" has a bad module "ManagedPipelineHandler" in its module list.




  • Access Rights Manager


The cause of this issue is unknown.


  1. Open command prompt with administrator rights
  2. Change directory to C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319.


    Your version of .NET may be different than the above example. Adjust the folder name accordingly.


  3. Run the command:
    aspnet_regiis -i
