ARM installer crashes after system reboot

Updated November 8, 2018

This article details a workaround to an issue in which the ARM installer crashes after a system reboot.

  • Access Rights Manager

  • Only in Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 with .NET lower than 4.5.2 is a system restart required during installation.
  • If you refuse the system restart, the ARM installation cannot continue.
  • After system reboot and system logon, a faulty ARM installer instance is automatically started to perform the ARM installation.

  • Close the ARM installer instance and manually restart the ARM setup.
    • Now that a required version of .NET Framework is installed, the ARM installation completes normally.
