Product section

Server Application Monitor

Cause

The 401 error is a permissions error, either the account does not exist, the password is incorrect, or the account itself has issues.

Resolution

  1. Verify that you can log into https://thwack.solarwinds.com/welcome with the account.
  2. Attempt to manually download the template from Thwack.
  3. Check that the browser is not caching the incorrect username and password.
Please take note:
On Thwack itself, both the email address and username are accepted for authentication, but the SAM manage template import doesn't accept email addresses for authentication.
If the user is logging in by using the email address in SAM manage template> import template page> he will get the error 401.
Please ensure logging in by using the username in the manage template page, the template should be able to import without error.
