Question:

How do I assign a monitor to a different device?

Resolution:

To assign a monitor to a different device, you must first move it to the Orphaned Objects group. Only monitors in the Orphaned Objects group may be assigned to a device.

To move a monitor to the Orphaned Objects group:

1. Log on to the ipMonitor web console.
2. Click the Configuration tab.
3. Click System Settings.
4. Click Global Behavior Modifiers
5. Click Add.
6. In the Behavior Modifier Name field, enter monitors.orphan.enable
7. In the Behavior Modifier Value field, enter 1
8. Click OK
9. Click the Devices tab.
10. Find the monitor to move, and then click it to go to the Edit Monitor page.
11. Click Move to Orphaned Objects

To assign a monitor in the Orphaned Objects group to a device:

1. Click the Devices tab.
2. In the Groups list, click Orphaned Objects.
3. Select the check box of the orphaned monitor.
4. Click Move.
5. Click the option button of the device to which you want to assign this monitor, and then click Continue.
