Question: |
How does LANsurveyor discover the node name that is listed on the network maps? |
Resolution: |
LANsurveyor uses several methods such as SNMP, SIP and NetBIOS to discover the node name. If multiple methods return a node name, then the response that was received first will be listed. If a node already has a name determined by a discovery method, then the name will not be overwritten by a subsequent discovery method. |
